Meet the Staff
Caroline Nilsson Troy, Executive Director of Development
Leading our team, Caroline brings a great passion for and experience with agriculture and Extension work. Caroline spent her childhood in southern Africa where her father managed the agricultural research farm for the Botswana College of Agriculture. Caroline was a 4-H member, was an employee of Idaho 4-H, and is now a 4-H parent. She attributes her success in production agriculture to breakthroughs in research and to the help of dedicated extension faculty. She has been involved in development work since 1992. Caroline received her bachelor’s degree in Communication in 1984 from the University of Idaho. She resides on a small farm in Genesee, Indaho with her husband, David Troy, two daughters, two "bonus" daughters, four dogs, two horses and a cat.
Megan Riebe, Director of Development
Megan brings twelve years of experience and training in fundraising to the Alumni and Friends team. She has served as a member of the CAHNRS and Extension alumni and friends team for over three years and has served on the WSU development staff for nearly six years. Prior to joining the WSU team, Megan served as Development Director for the Columbia-Pacific Resource Conservation and Economic Development District, headquartered in Aberdeen, Washington. She served as a fundraiser for other non-profit organizations in southwest Washington, including as a private fund development consultant. Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a marketing option from WSU in 1990. Megan was raised in Seattle. She now resides in Otis Orchards, near Spokane, with her husband, Tim and their two sons.
Jennifer Olegario, Assistant Director of Development
A native New Yorker, Jennifer moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2005 and has been with the Alumni & Friends team since August, 2007. Prior to joining WSU, she spent the majority of her career in public relations, beginning on the agency side and then moving on to corporate media spokesperson positions for several Wall Street firms. Jennifer graduated from Syracuse University in 1997 with dual majors in Public Relations and International Relations. She is based in the WSU West office in Seattle. Jennifer and Jackson, her rambunctious Smooth Fox Terrier, reside in downtown Seattle and are quite happy to call the Pacific Northwest home.
Linda Bailey, Event Planner and Alumni Relations
Linda is married to Gary Bailey, a St. John-area farmer and rancher. They live in St. John, where they raised their three sons, two of whom are Cougs. As a former 4-H member, junior leader and leader she knows the benefits of 4-H leadership and credits 4-H with developing many skills she still uses today. For the past twelve years, Linda has served as the administrative director of the St. John-Endicott Schools’ Foundation in St. John. Linda’s volunteer activities have prepared her well for development work. She chaired the St. John-Endicott Junior Miss Program for several years as well as the Lewiston Junior Miss Program. Personal interests include reading, bicycling, walking, snow skiing, wine tasting, gourmet cooking, traveling and spending time at the lake with family and friends. Linda holds a degree in communications from Eastern Washington University.
Britta Nitcy, Principal Assistant
Britta has been with WSU since 1990, and in 1994 started with the College’s Alumni and Development Office. Britta’s experience and knowledge help us keep our office running smoothly. In addition to office management, Britta’s responsibilities include scholarships, stewardship, and budgeting for our department. She was raised in St. Maries, Idaho. She and her husband, Jeff, reside in Potlatch, Idaho, where Jeff is a teacher.
Dory Straight, Secretary Senior
The U.S. Army brought Dory and her family to the Northwest in 2003, when her husband took a teaching position with the ROTC program at WSU. Dory brings 11 years of office experience to our department. She is a military child who has lived in four different states and a foreign country before her father retired to West Virginia. With her husband she has lived in six different states and one foreign country. Dory and her husband, Ray, live in Troy, Idaho.
